2022 – Daveanand Khemraj

On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to thank everyone for my successful surgery and, now, my bright future ahead!

Daveanand “Dave” Khemraj, 2022 SpineHope Hub Program Patient from Guyana

Daveanand “Dave” Khemraj, a teen from Guyana, waited for surgery for over 5 years. Dave had a 73 degree scoliosis curve that dramatically impacted his life physically and mentally. He dreams of being an electrician, playing cricket and both feeling and looking like a normal individual. Dave was selected as a candidate for this program two years ago, but his evaluation and treatment were postponed due to COVID surges.

On January 31, 2022, Dave had successful corrective spine surgery in Austin, Texas and has returned home to Guyana. Although this part of Dave's spine journey has come to an end, Dave will continue his recovery at home. His operation was a huge success and he is healing quickly with very little pain…and is 2.5 inches taller! Dave is happy to be home but is extremely grateful to everyone who made his spine journey possible.

We would like to thank The Caribbean Children Foundation (TCCF) as well as the team at ImplantBase for being his sponsors and helping him through his spine journey.
